After last week's devastating and disorienting news, I'm reminded of our need for stories that root us deeply in faith, hope, and love. 

We need faith that there is a King who reigns over all this chaos.We need hope in a glorious future where all wrongs will be made right.We need love that propels us to both fight against evil and forgive our enemies.

Good stories often take surprising turns in the darkest moments. This happens in The Pilgrim's Progress, when Faithful's execution leads to salvation for a man named Hopeful. In Part II, these events ultimately lead to a revival and the birth of a church in Vanity Fair.
